How a no upfront cost website actually works
Four steps, and the first one is the one that makes it different from every other quote you will get.
We build it before you pay anything
You tell us about the business, send over whatever photos and text you have, and we design the homepage. No deposit, no signature, nothing taken from a card. Most agencies reverse this — a cheque first, a first draft six to eight weeks later.
You look at it and decide
If you do not like it, you walk away and it has cost you nothing. That is the whole point of the structure: the risk of the build sits with us, not with you.
Approve it and it goes live
Two to three weeks from start for a standard five-page site. The slow part is almost always getting text and photographs out of a busy business, not the building.
€50 a month covers everything after that
Hosting, your domain, SSL, security patching, one content update a month and your Google Business Profile set up. No separate hosting bill arriving from someone else in eight months.
What pay monthly really costs, over five years
The honest comparison, not the flattering one. Paying monthly is not the cheapest route over a long enough period — it is the cheapest route to getting started, which is a different thing and worth being clear about.

If you have the cash, buy outright
€1,400 over five years against €3,000. We would rather say that plainly than sell you the monthly plan and have you work it out later. The monthly model exists for businesses whose cash is doing something more useful right now.
Against an agency, monthly wins either way

"So what's the catch?"
Anyone who has ever signed a mobile phone contract assumes there is one. Here is every term that would normally be in the small print, on the page instead.
Why is there a 12-month minimum?
Because there is nothing to pay at the start. We build the site, host it and support it before we have been paid a cent, so the first year is what makes that possible. After twelve months it runs month-to-month and you can stop whenever you like — no notice period beyond the current month.
What if I want out before the twelve months are up?
You pay whichever is less: the months remaining on your term, or €599. We cap it deliberately. A tie-in you cannot afford to break is not a fair deal at this price, and we would rather you left cleanly than stayed resentfully.
Do I own the website?
On the monthly plan, no — we hold and maintain the site while you are on it, and that is precisely what allows there to be nothing upfront. Your domain is registered in your business name and your content is yours, and both transfer on request. If owning the site outright matters to you, the Own It plan is €599 once plus a €15/month care plan, and you own it from the day it goes live.
What happens to my site if I stop paying?
On the monthly plan the site comes down at the end of the term and your domain transfers to you. On Own It you already own it — we hand over the static files and transfer the domain for a €75 handover fee, and you host it wherever you like. The files are plain HTML, CSS and images, so any developer can pick them up. Nothing we build locks you into a proprietary platform.
Does the price go up?
Your rate is fixed for your term. The €15 Own It care plan carries no increase at all, for as long as you stay on it.
Is this a lease? Am I renting my website?
On the monthly plan, functionally yes — and we would rather call it that than pretend otherwise. You are paying for a working, hosted, maintained website rather than buying an asset. Whether that is the right trade depends on your cash position and whether you want to think about hosting and security again. If it is not, take Own It.
This suits you if
- Your cash is tied up in stock, tools, a van or a lease, and €2,000 upfront is simply not available this quarter.
- You are starting out and would rather not gamble a large sum on a website before the business has proved itself.
- You do not want to think about hosting, renewals, SSL certificates or security patches ever again.
- You have been quoted €2,500 by an agency and cannot tell what you would actually be getting for it.
- You want a predictable monthly line in the accounts rather than an unpredictable annual one.
It doesn't if
- You have the cash and no need for ongoing support — buying outright is cheaper over five years and you should do that instead.
- You want to sell online. Ecommerce brings payments, stock, VAT and returns with it, and it is not a €50/month product.
- You need the site next week. Two to three weeks is the honest timeline once we have your content.
- You want unlimited changes. One content update a month covers most businesses; if it does not, say so and we will put you on the right plan.
- You want a bespoke brand identity designed from nothing. We work with the brand you have.
The other ways to get a website with nothing upfront
We are not the only route, and you should know what the others are before deciding. Each of these is a real option with a real drawback.
A free website builder
Upfront: €0Genuinely free to start, and fine for a hobby project or a one-off event. For a business it means their branding in your URL, their ads on your pages, no custom domain without paying, and every hour of the work done by you. You are renting, and you own nothing at the end.
Paying an agency in instalments
Upfront: Often 50% depositSome agencies will split a €2,500 build into stages. That is not the same as nothing upfront — you are usually paying half before you see a design, and the balance before it goes live. Worth asking for, but ask what happens if you dislike the first draft.
A finance agreement
Upfront: €0A third-party lender pays the agency and you repay with interest. You own the site, but you have taken on a credit agreement, it appears on your record, and you cannot walk away if the site turns out badly. Read what the APR actually is.
Building it yourself
Upfront: €0 plus your timeThe real cost is the weekend you do not get back, and the second weekend when you realise the mobile layout is broken. If you enjoy it, do it. Most business owners try once and hire someone the following year.
Where ours differs
You see the finished homepage before any money changes hands, and if you do not like it there is nothing to pay and nothing to cancel. No deposit, no credit agreement, no half-payment before a design exists. The trade is the twelve-month term, and we hold the site while you are on the plan — both stated above rather than discovered later.

What does a pay monthly website cost in Ireland?
Ours is €0 upfront and €50 a month for a five-page site, including hosting, domain, SSL, security, one content update a month and Google Business Profile setup, on a 12-month minimum and then month-to-month. Is a no upfront cost website too good to be true?
It is a real trade, not a trick. You get a website with nothing to pay at the start; we get a twelve-month commitment and we hold the site while you are on the plan. That is the entire arrangement. The things people expect to find hidden — a balloon payment, a price rise, a domain held hostage — are not there, and the exit terms are published on this page rather than buried in a contract you see after signing.
Is pay monthly more expensive in the long run?
Over five years, yes, compared with buying outright: €3,000 on the monthly plan against €1,400 on Own It. Against a typical Irish agency build plus a care plan, which runs €4,400–8,800 over the same period, it is considerably cheaper. If you have the cash and do not need ongoing support, buy outright — we will tell you that rather than sell you the monthly plan.
Can I switch from monthly to owning it later?
Yes. Talk to us and we will work out the balance rather than charging you twice for the same site. Most of the movement we see is the other way — businesses starting on monthly and staying because they would rather not think about hosting again.
What is included in the €50 a month?
A five-page static website, hosting, your domain, the SSL certificate, security patching, one content update a month and your Google Business Profile claimed and set up. What it does not include is a shop, a booking system, unlimited changes, copywriting from scratch or an SEO retainer — those boundaries are set out in full on the packages page. The point of the monthly fee is that no other website bill should ever reach you: no separate hosting invoice, no renewal notice, no certificate expiring quietly.
How is this different from a website builder subscription?
Wix or Squarespace charge a monthly fee too, so the comparison is fair. The difference is who does the work. On a builder subscription you write the pages, choose the layout, source the images, fix the mobile view and keep it current — the fee buys you software. Here the fee buys you a built and maintained site: we do the building, and when your prices or opening hours change you send a message rather than opening an editor. Do you do pay monthly websites outside Dublin?
Yes. The whole thing runs remotely and we work with businesses across Ireland — we have pages for Cork and Galway, and plenty of clients are nowhere near either. What matters is that your site names the areas you actually cover.
Could a grant cover this instead?
Possibly, and it is the step most businesses skip. The Local Enterprise Office grant and the Grow Digital Voucher run on different eligibility rules, so check both — plenty of businesses qualify for one and not the other. If a grant covers the build, buying outright may make more sense than paying monthly, and we will quote in whatever format the application asks for.
