Free Tools (Website Speed Test)
Our website speed test can be used without giving us any contact details. When you run a test we record:
- The website address tested, and the competitor address if you enter one
- The performance results returned by Google's PageSpeed Insights API (scores, Core Web Vitals, page size)
- A one-way hashed version of your IP address, used only to rate-limit the tool and prevent abuse. We do not store your actual IP address, and the hash is not used to identify you
We keep results for up to 24 hours so repeat tests of the same site return instantly, and we retain the anonymous performance figures to build an aggregate picture of website performance in Ireland. Running the test does not add you to any mailing list.
If you choose to have the report emailed to you, we additionally store your email address, the site you tested, your score, and a record of the consent you gave along with the date and time. We use this to send you the report and occasional tips about website speed. We never sell it. To be removed and have your details deleted, simply reply to any email we send, or contact us using the details below.
The speed test sends the website address you enter to Google's PageSpeed Insights API in order to measure it. Report emails are delivered using Resend, our email provider.
