Get Your Free Quote TodayHow do I get my business to show up on Google?
This is the question we get asked more than any other, and the honest answer is that two separate things have to be in place. Most tradesmen have neither, which is why they're invisible to someone searching from the next town over.
1. A Google Business Profile
This is the box with the map, your opening hours and your reviews. It's free, it's the single biggest source of calls for most trades, and it has to be verified by post before it appears. We set it up, verify it and fill it in properly — it's included in every plan.
2. A site that names your trade and towns
Google can only rank you for words that actually appear on your site. If "Tallaght" and "rewiring" are nowhere on the page, you won't come up for "rewiring Tallaght". We write your real services and your real service area into the site in plain English.
If you're already listed but not appearing, the cause is usually one of a handful of fixable things — unverified profile, wrong category, no service area set, or a site with nothing on it to rank. We wrote a full guide on why your business isn't showing up on Google, and you can check how fast your current site loads with our free speed test.
Do I need a website if I have a Facebook page?
Keep the Facebook page — it's useful for showing recent jobs to people who already know you. But it does a different job to a website, and it won't win you the searches that matter.
When someone's boiler goes at seven in the morning, they open Google and type "emergency plumber" and their town. What comes back is the map results and websites. A Facebook page rarely appears there. On top of that, you don't own the page: reach changes without warning, accounts get locked, and you can't point it at "carpenter Naas" and expect to rank.
The practical setup for most trades is all three working together — a Google Business Profile for the map, a small fast website for the searches, and Facebook for the people who already follow you. We handle the first two.
What should a tradesman's website actually have on it?
Not much, honestly — but the few things that matter, matter a lot. Six pages of waffle will do less for you than one page with these six things done properly.
Your phone number, tappable, at the top
The single biggest reason tradesmen lose jobs online is making people hunt for the number. It belongs in the header on every page.
The towns you actually cover
"Electrician Tallaght" only ranks if the word Tallaght is on your site. List your real service area in plain text.
Photos of your own work
Not stock photos. Ten real job photos beat any amount of marketing copy — customers are checking whether you do work like theirs.
Your registration numbers
RECI, Safe Electric, RGI, C2, tax clearance, insurance. These are the first things a cautious homeowner looks for.
Reviews people can verify
A handful of real Google reviews with names does more than a wall of anonymous quotes.
A way to send you a photo
Most enquiries start with "can you look at this?" A form that accepts a photo saves you a site visit.
How do I stop paying for shared leads?
Lead-generation sites sell the same enquiry to several tradesmen at once. You pay for the contact whether or not you win it, you're quoting against three other people who got the identical lead, and the only lever left is price.
Your own site and Google Business Profile work the other way around. The cost is fixed at €50/month no matter how many enquiries come in, the enquiry arrives with only your name on it, and the customer has already looked at your photos and your registrations before ringing — so the conversation starts from trust rather than from price.
We won't pretend it's instant. Google Business Profile verification takes a couple of weeks by post, and local rankings build over a few months. Most tradesmen keep buying some leads at the start and wind them down as their own enquiries pick up.
Websites for every trade
The structure changes depending on what you do and how people search for it. Here's how we approach the trades we build for most often.
Electricians
Safe Electric registration front and centre, emergency call-out number in the header, and separate pages for rewires, EV chargers and fault-finding.
Plumbers & Heating
"Emergency plumber near me" is searched on a phone, in a panic. One tap to call, your hours and your call-out area above the fold.
Carpenters & Joiners
Your work sells itself. Fast-loading before-and-after galleries for fitted wardrobes, kitchens and stairs.
Builders & Extensions
Bigger jobs mean longer decisions. Project pages, a clear process, and planning-permission FAQs build trust before they ring.
Painters & Decorators
Room-by-room photo galleries, interior and exterior split out, and a simple quote form that asks for square metres.
Landscapers & Groundworks
Seasonal work needs seasonal pages — patios and decking in spring, drainage and fencing in winter.
Roofers
Storm-damage searches spike overnight. A fast site and a live phone number wins the job over a slow competitor.
Tilers & Plasterers
Detail work photographs well. Close-up galleries plus the areas of the country you actually travel to.
Don't see your trade? We build for any of them — the approach is the same. Related pages: solar installers, EV charger installers, insulation contractors and commercial cleaning.
What does it cost?
No quotes to chase and no surprise invoices. We build your homepage first — you pay nothing until you approve it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a tradesman website cost?
Our Starter plan is €0 upfront and €50/month all-inclusive — hosting, domain, SSL, security and one content update a month are all included. If you'd rather own the site outright, it's €599 once-off, with the first year of hosting free and an optional €15/month after that. Full breakdown on our pricing page.
Do I need to sign a long contract?
The Starter plan is 12 monthly payments, not an ongoing contract — once they're done, the site is yours. If you need to exit early, you pay whichever is less: the remaining months or €599.
How fast can my tradesman website go live?
We build your homepage design first, so you can see and approve it before you pay anything. Once approved, most sites are live within 2 weeks.
Will my site show up on Google Maps?
Yes — Google Business Profile setup is included, so local customers searching for your trade can find you on Maps and in local search results.
Do I need a website if I already have a Facebook page?
A Facebook page is worth having, but it works differently. People searching "emergency electrician Dublin" on Google mostly get websites and Google Business Profiles, not Facebook pages. You also don't control a Facebook page — reach changes, accounts get locked, and you can't rank a Facebook post for the towns you cover. Most tradesmen we work with keep the Facebook page and add a site that ranks.
How do I get my business to show up on Google?
Two separate things have to happen. First, a Google Business Profile — that's what puts you in the map results and it's free; we set it up and verify it as part of every plan. Second, a website with your trade and your service area written on it in plain text, so Google has something to rank for "plumber Swords" or "carpenter Naas". We cover the common reasons a business doesn't appear in our guide on why your business isn't showing up on Google.
Is it better than buying leads from a lead-generation site?
Shared-lead sites sell the same enquiry to several tradesmen, so you're quoting against three other people and competing on price. A site plus a Google Business Profile costs €50/month flat no matter how many enquiries come in, and the enquiries come to you alone. Most tradesmen keep buying some leads at first and taper off as their own enquiries build.
I'm not good with computers — do I have to update it myself?
No. That's the point of the monthly plan. You send us a WhatsApp with what you want changed and we do it — one content update a month is included, and small fixes we just do. You never have to log into anything.
What if I only work in one county?
That's usually an advantage. It's far easier to rank for "plumber Wexford" than "plumber Ireland", and the enquiries are jobs you can actually travel to. We build the site around your real service area rather than pretending you're nationwide.
Do I own the site or am I renting it?
Neither, quite — it's instalments. On the €50/month Starter plan we hold and maintain the site for the 12 monthly payments — that's how it can be €0 upfront — and once they're done, it's yours, for a one-off €50 handover fee. Pay €599 once instead and the files and domain are yours from day one, free to take any time. Both options are on our pricing page.

- Solar installer websites
If you have added PV to what you offer, solar leads behave differently to general trade leads — people compare three quotes and read every page before they ring.
- Insulation contractor websites
Retrofit work brings SEAI grant questions with it, and answering those on the site is what stops the same phone call happening twenty times.
- EV charger installer websites
Electricians adding charger installs need the grant detail and the OEM approvals visible, because that is what the customer is checking for.
- Why you're not showing up on Google
The usual reason a tradesman with a decent site still gets no calls, and it is almost never the site itself.
