For Candidates & Public Representatives

Websites for Councillors & Election Candidates

Your campaign has a deadline. We work to it.

Every other client can wait a fortnight. You can't — polling day doesn't move. We build your homepage design first and show it to you before you pay anything, and for candidates we turn that around in days so you can get it on your leaflets and posters.

Nothing to pay until you approve it

We design and build your homepage first. If you don't like it, you owe us nothing and you've lost a couple of days, not a chunk of the campaign budget.

  • Live in days, not weeks — campaigns can't wait
  • €0 upfront — €50/month all-inclusive
  • Dated invoice for your election expenses return
  • Works on every phone, at every door

What should a candidate's website have on it?

A campaign site has one job: convert someone who has just heard your name into someone who knows what you stand for and how to reach you. Six things do almost all of that work.

Who you are, in your own words

Where you're from, what you do, why you're running. Voters check this first, and a stock political biography reads as though somebody else wrote it.

The exact area you're running in

Your local electoral area or constituency named in plain text, with the towns and estates in it. This is also what lets people searching your area actually find you.

A short, specific policy page

Three or four things you'll actually push for, written concretely. Vague priorities convince nobody and give journalists nothing to quote.

Ways to get involved

A form for people offering to canvass, drop leaflets, put up a poster or host a coffee morning. Campaigns lose volunteers who had no way to say yes.

How to reach you directly

Phone, email and clinic times. Constituents contacting you about a problem is the job — make it easy before and after polling day.

Somewhere to post updates

Statements, local issues, press coverage. It gives you something to share and it keeps the site from going stale mid-campaign.

Will people find it when they search my name?

That's the search that matters most. Somebody meets you at the door, sees your poster at a junction or hears you on local radio, and then types your name into their phone that evening.

If you have no site, what they find is whatever else exists — a party directory entry, an old news article, someone else with the same name. A site of your own, with your name in the domain and the page titles, almost always takes the top result for your own name within a couple of weeks, because nothing else is competing for it.

The second search worth having is your area — "councillor" or "candidate" plus your local electoral area. That one needs your area written plainly on the site, which is why we ask for it up front. We also set up a Google Business Profile where it's appropriate, so your clinic location and hours show on Maps.

If you already have a site that isn't appearing, our guide on why you're not showing up on Google covers the usual causes, and the free speed test will tell you if it's simply too slow.

What about election spending rules?

Election spending and donations in Ireland are regulated under the Electoral Act 1997 and overseen by the Standards in Public Office Commission. Campaign material used during the formal election period — a website included — normally counts as an election expense that has to go in your return.

Spending limits and disclosure thresholds vary by election type and by area, and they're revised from time to time. Check the current figures with SIPO or your election agent — we build websites, we're not your compliance advisers, and we'd rather say so than have you rely on us for it.

What we can do is make the paperwork side straightforward: a clear itemised invoice with the date and what it covers, so it drops into a return without you having to reconstruct anything. If your agent needs the spend split across a particular period, tell us and we'll invoice to match.

What happens to the site after polling day?

This is where a campaign site built to be thrown away costs you. Elections come round again, and the work you put into a site — the content, the domain, the search position on your own name — is worth keeping.

If you're elected, it becomes your constituency site. Clinic times and locations, contact details, updates on the issues you're working on, statements. Constituents look these up constantly and it saves your office a lot of phone calls.

If you're not, most candidates keep it going. It stays ranked for your name, it carries your record of what you campaigned on, and it's already there for the next cycle or for community and committee work in the meantime.

Either way it's the same €50/month, and the Starter plan is 12 monthly payments — after that the site is yours, and it's €15/month only if you want us to keep hosting it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you build an election campaign website?

Faster than our standard timeline, because campaigns have a fixed deadline. We build your homepage design first and show it to you before you pay anything — for candidates we can usually turn that around within a few days, and have the full site live inside a week once you've approved it and sent us your photos and text.

How much does a candidate website cost?

Our Starter plan is €0 upfront and €50/month all-inclusive — hosting, domain, SSL, security and one content update a month included. If you'd rather buy it outright, it's €599 once-off, with the first year of hosting free and an optional €15/month after that. Full detail on our pricing page.

Does a campaign website count as an election expense?

Generally yes. Election spending and donations in Ireland are regulated under the Electoral Act 1997 and overseen by the Standards in Public Office Commission (SIPO), and material like a campaign website normally counts as an election expense when it's used during the formal election period. Limits and disclosure thresholds differ by election type and area and they change, so confirm the current rules with SIPO or your agent — we're web developers, not your compliance advisers. What we do is give you a clear, dated invoice that's straightforward to put in a return.

What happens to the site after the election?

That's the main reason to go monthly rather than build something disposable. If you're elected it becomes your constituency site — clinic times, contact details, updates on local issues. If you're not, plenty of candidates keep it running for the next cycle or for community work. Either way it's the same €50/month and you can cancel at the end of the 12-month term.

Can you handle it if the site gets very busy near polling day?

Yes. We build static sites, which means the pages are pre-built files served from a fast global network rather than generated on demand. A traffic spike from a radio mention or a viral post doesn't slow it down or knock it offline the way a database-driven site can.

I already have a party page — do I need my own site?

A party page tells people the party exists in your area. It rarely ranks for your own name, which is what people search after meeting you at the door or seeing your poster. Your own site is also yours to control, and it stays with you if you change party or run as an independent.

Do you work with independents and smaller parties?

Yes — we build the site, we don't vet the politics. We work with candidates across the spectrum and from any party or none, and we treat every campaign's material as confidential.

Will the site be accessible to people with disabilities?

Yes, and it matters more here than on most sites. We build with proper heading structure, keyboard navigation, sufficient colour contrast and real alt text on images, so people using screen readers or magnification can read your material. Public-facing political information should be readable by every voter.

  • LEO grant website design

Not applicable to a campaign site, but the page constituents ask about most once they know you work with a web developer.

  • Fast static websites

Campaign sites take sudden traffic spikes on the day a leaflet drops — this is why a static build handles that and WordPress often does not.

  • Why your site is invisible on Google

A new campaign domain has no history at all, which is a specific and solvable problem in the weeks before a vote.
