Irish Business Schema Generator
Generate the structured data that tells Google exactly what your business is, where it is and when it's open. Built for Ireland — Eircode, county, VAT and CRO — and it picks the correct Schema.org type for your trade instead of a generic one.
Schema.org type: Plumber
Google recommends this and can show it in results. A real photo of your premises, van or team — the address of the image file, not the page it sits on.
Map coordinates (optional)
Right-click your premises in Google Maps and the coordinates are the first item on the menu. Useful when your address is a townland rather than a street.
Completeness check
What Google looks for on a LocalBusiness listing.
Where does this go?
Paste the whole block, including the <script> tags, into the
<head> of the relevant page. On WordPress, a header-scripts plugin
or your theme's header file will do it.
Now get it onto your site
Send the code to whoever looks after your website. For any competent developer it's a five-minute job.
If they can't do it, won't do it, or leave you waiting weeks — that tells you what you're paying for. When you decide it's time to move on, we're here.
Every site we build has schema, speed and local SEO in from day one. No upfront cost, and we build your homepage first so you pay nothing until you approve it.
Why the Schema.org type matters more than anything else
The most common mistake in local structured data is marking every business as the generic
LocalBusiness. Schema.org has specific types — Plumber,
Electrician, RoofingContractor, HairSalon,
Dentist, AccountingService — and using the specific one gives
Google a far clearer signal about what you actually do. This tool picks it for you.
Where Schema.org genuinely has no matching type — commercial cleaning and wedding planning,
for instance — we fall back to generic LocalBusiness and tell you we've done
it, rather than inventing a type that search engines will ignore.
One trap worth knowing about: ProfessionalService looks like the obvious choice
for a service business, and plenty of guides still recommend it. Schema.org deprecated it
because it was routinely confused with Service, so you won't find it anywhere
in this tool.
The Irish fields other generators miss
- Eircode — goes in
postalCode. Unlike a UK postcode it identifies a single building, which resolves the ambiguity of rural townland addresses. - County —
addressRegion, formatted as Google expects for Ireland. - VAT number —
vatID, validated against the Irish format. - CRO number — your Companies Registration Office number, added as an
identifier. - Phone — converted to international
+353format, which is what Google needs to match you to your Google Business Profile.
Frequently asked questions
What is schema markup?
Schema markup is invisible code you add to your website that tells search engines exactly what your business is, where it is, when it is open and how to contact you. Google reads text on a page and guesses. Schema removes the guessing — you state it as structured data, in a format Google is built to read.
Does schema markup help my Google ranking?
Not directly — Google has said structured data is not a ranking factor in itself. What it does is make you eligible for rich results: star ratings, opening hours, the Map Pack panel, FAQ dropdowns in search. Those change how much of the page you occupy and how many people click, which is what actually grows your enquiries.
Where do I put the code?
The generated code goes inside the <head> section of your homepage, or anywhere in the HTML body — Google accepts both. On WordPress you can paste it into a header-scripts plugin or your theme header. If that sentence means nothing to you, send the code to whoever built your site — it is a five-minute job for anyone with access.
Do I need a different schema for every page?
Your LocalBusiness schema belongs on your homepage and generally your contact page. FAQ schema goes on the specific page that contains those questions and answers — Google requires the questions to be visible on the page, not hidden in the code. Never put FAQ schema on a page where the questions do not appear.
What is an Eircode and does Google need it?
An Eircode is Ireland's postcode, and unlike a UK postcode it identifies an individual building rather than a district. Including it in your postalCode field gives Google an unambiguous location, which matters in rural areas where townland addresses are frequently ambiguous.
Schema is one piece of the puzzle
Structured data helps Google understand you, but it won't rescue a site that loads slowly or a Google Business Profile that's half filled in. If customers can't find you, start with the full diagnostic — why your business isn't showing up on Google, then check your load times with our free website speed test. Our local SEO guide covers the rest.
